Latest Innovations & Technology
When it comes to precise diagnosis and treatment, we strive to offer our patients the best technology science has devised. That is why we have equipped our office with some of the finest dental technologies available today. These include the following:
- Intra-oral camera: This allows us to project onto a monitor screen a live video image from your mouth. That means you can see what we are seeing, which means you can better understand our diagnosis and be well-informed when deciding on treatment options.
Panorex X-ray system: With this system, it lets us take one, low-radiation exposure that shows an image of your whole mouth and you do not have to hold any film between your teeth. Aside from detecting cavities, the Panorex system is effective in helping to diagnose abscesses, tumors, and wisdom teeth problems.
Computer imaging: Thanks to our computer imaging system, we can show you an “after” image of your smile before we even begin treatment!
- Microabrasion: This technique involves applying a gritty paste-like substance to the teeth to remove surface stains and discoloration on teeth.
- Air Abrasion: With a gentle spray of air and powder, air abrasion is used to remove tooth decay. Not only is this a way to treat cavities, yet the procedure is virtually painless as it eliminates the need for a needle and drill!
- Diagnodent Laser Dentistry: Using laser technology, we can find cavities earlier than ever before poking around! Diagnodent is fast, accurate, and very comfortable.
Health & Safety Precautions
At Green + Klooster Dental Health and Aesthetics, we provide exceptional infection control standards for all of our patients, including our own self-contained sterile water system in all treatment areas. Today, dentistry is emphasizing the importance of health and safety within the dental practice. This is accomplished through a variety of means to protect your health through the prevention of disease transmission. Cleanliness and proper sterilization techniques have been a vital part of dental practices for many years; however, the AIDS, Hepatitis B, and Herpes viruses have made these techniques much more important. The dental profession has made several visible changes in the way dental services are provided. These changes ensure your health and safety in the dental office and are sometimes referred to as the "Universal Precautions.” Some of these precautions include:
- Dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants are wearing surgical gloves, eye glasses, and masks with each patient to prevent the possibility of microorganisms from being transferred during dental procedures.
- Dental instruments are heat sterilized, or autoclaved, between each patient to protect against the possibility of cross-contamination from one patient to another. Heat sterilization kills any potentially harmful microorganisms.
- Dental personnel are vaccinated against the Hepatitis B virus.
- Special precautions are taken in the handling and disposal of potentially hazardous waste and other materials in the dental office.
- All dental personnel receive special training in patient and environmental protection procedures.
Comfortable Practice Environment
Though our beautiful, state-of-the-art practice offers some of the most cutting edge technology, it also has the calming ambiance of home. We find most dental patients have some level of anxiety that can be reduced by a comfortable and friendly environment. Our desire is to create just that type of special atmosphere for our patients, so your experience is pleasant and relaxed. As you walk into our warmly decorated reception area, you will be greeted by name and welcomed with light snacks, coffee, and juices. Each treatment room has a comfy, reclining chair with intra-oral cameras, CAESY interactive educational system programs, computer imaging, cable TV, plus a CD and DVD player. During your treatment, you may tune in your favorite TV show or watch a DVD on the mounted computer monitor. If you prefer music, just listen to a soothing CD to unwind while getting your dental treatment accomplished. When it comes to patient comfort, nothing is spared! We even provide heated blankets to ease your stress and warm your body during your visit. Once your treatment is finished, we offer a steaming hot face-cloth to freshen up.
